Types of Musical Groups

     Motown music is a subdivision of rock music. It would refer to a particular sound and repertoire of music that was associated with Detroit from the years 1959-1971. Tunes such as "My Girl", "R-E-S-P-E-C-T", "Shop Around", "Devil With The Blue Dress On", "Heard It Through The Grapevine", and "Baby Love" are examples of this type of music.
