THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA LEADERS:

MEMBERSHIP PROCEDURE AND REQUIREMENTS

The following requirements and procedure are articulated in the APOL By-laws.

An applicant for membership must:

(a) Be an established bandleader.

(b) Be recommended by two (2) members in good standing.

(c) Attend a regular monthly meeting and receive packet containing: background on APOL, a letter from the president, and outline of responsibilities and benefits of membership, a copy of APOL Code of Ethics and Professional Standards, and membership application.

(d) Submit membership application and $50 initiation fee.

(e) Be elected by 75% majority of members present at a subsequent regular monthly meeting at which quorum requirements are met.

(f) Pay Annual Dues of $60 in full, or prorated monthly, for the balance of the current membership year.

MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES

Member responsibilities are articulated in the APOL Constitution and By-laws, and include the following:

APOL members shall endeavor to conduct their professional activities within the guidelines set down in the APOL Code of Ethics and Professional Standards.
